She
was born in Winona, Minnesota and her hippy parents named
her after the place that she
was born. Both of her parents were more interested in
the political debates of the late sixties
and early seventies then the drug scene, but you wouldn't
know that from Winona's present day
dependence on prescription pain killers. Her godfather
was Timothy Leary, the only professor to
this day to have been kicked out of Harvard. He taught
a class that encourage the academic
use of LSD to enhance sensations and the mind.
Her father
and Leary worked together. But after the hippy movement
her parents moved back to
the city where she began public school at the age of
the eight. Prior to this her parents were
very serious about home-schooling her. When she was
eight she looked like a tomboy and many
of her fellow students confused her for a boy. Her big
film break came in the form of Tim Burton's
sleeper hit, Beetlejuice. Only one year she starred
in Heathers which blew her movie career
wide open.

Did
you know that the real color of her hair is blond but
she has died it and kept it black up
until a couple of years ago. Her background is also Russian-American.
During her life she has
suffered with boughts of depression and anxiety attacks.
She claims that this is due to her
constant work in films. She is devoted enough to dig deep
enough in a film role that is causes
deep suffering in her as well as her tormented characters.
She also
has two other brothers, Jabal and Uri. She graduated
highschool with a 4.0 GPA. One role
that she auditioned for that she didn't get was for
Marla Singer in Fight Club. She would have
been perfect for that role but the casting directors
thought otherwise. She has also dated and
is a very good friend of Johnney Depp.
