SPACE STATIONS - The first seven pictures are of the Russian Space Station Mir. The name Mir stands for Peace in Russian. The Mir station is almost fifteen years old and is now in the midst of renovation. A European company has reached an agreement with Russia to convert the station into a space hotel for turists. The price will probably be about twenty million dollars for a ticket to Mir. But that price will drop as other forms of space turism develop in the 21st century. The last three pictures are of the new international space station. This station is currently under construction and will be the size of a football field. This station will be the first permanent presence of man in space. It will have a crew of six at all times. The completion date is 2002 but that will most likely be postponed due to finacial problems.
